Our brokers have confirmed that the CHESS functions to update the bank account details and ABN/TFN is enabled. Sometimes clients will receive letters requesting to update these details – these letters can be disregarded fyi.
Re. FATCA/CRS acknowledgement, currently there is no CHESS message to update this. Therefore, the clients can access the given link in the letter to acknowledge the FATCA/CRS questions.
The received letters are sent by the individual Fund Managers or companies as part of their welcome process when a new holding gets registered on the HIN. The letters are sent to the CHESS Registration address only.
