What’s on this page
This page will outline the processes related to fees for new accounts. From July 2022, all clients can have their advice fees added during the onboarding wizard and those fees will be immediately added to the client when onboarding is complete.
Setting up fees
You can set up a client’s fee configurations during the onboarding wizard or after. If done during onboarding, the set-up is self-service and the fees will be added to the client as soon as you complete the onboarding wizard. These fees will not be charged to the client until a portfolio (investment service) is created, and the client has holdings on the platform.
If fees are to be added after the onboarding wizard, you should send a request to clientservices@dash.com.au.
During onboarding
The existing onboarding wizard has always allowed Super and Pension advice fees to be configured. From July 2022, this same functionality will be extended to all client account types.
All steps in onboarding remain the same, except for the ‘Advice Fees’ page. For more information on completing onboarding, generally refer to our article {insert article link}. After selecting the client account type and entering the primary contact’s basic details, you will be presented with the advice fees page.
From this page you are presented with two options:
-
import standard fees; and
-
adding a new fee.
Importing existing fee(s)
Importing fees will copy any existing advice fee templates attached to your AFSL or Practice profile onto the onboarding client. This function will ignore any platform fees like the Dash Administration fee or Super Simplifier product fee.
Note: If you intend to on-charge platform fees and don’t see the on-charge appear on import, please contact support team (clientservices@dash.com.au).
Imported fees cannot be edited, but you can view the details and remove them from the client if needed. To review an imported fee’s details, click the eye icon. To remove an imported fee from the client, click the trash icon to remove them.
Add new fee(s)
Adding a new fee allows you to configure custom fees just for the client you are onboarding. These fees can have all the same attributes as imported fees, however are not re-usable as templates for other clients. You can view, edit and delete these fees up until the point you complete the onboarding wizard.
Completing onboarding
When you click the ‘Process client' button on the review page, you are completing the onboarding wizard. This will create the client account, all associated contacts and most importantly attach all fees created or imported during onboarding. This process is automatic and requires no further action from you.
